Doctor Who

As it appears Libcom members do not always strictly speak of politics 100% all the time on libcom.org forums as seen in link below

I thought I would ask are there any fans of Doctor Who fans on libcom?
I even wrote a blog on the Ninth Doctor from a Socialist Perspective.
There has even been a Doctor Who drama where someone attempted to overthrow capitalism via mathematical formula.

Yes Dr Who is pretty interesting. My favourite is the old serial War Games. The Doctor and his friends end up in the middle of WWI and on trial as spies. Its later revealed to be a plot by an alien empire to build a perfect army.

What's great about it is at first they don't realise their on an alien planet, they think they're in WWI being persecuted by a bloodthirsty member of the General staff. Its not until they run into Red coats, Romans and the Confederacy that they twig that something weird is going on. Basically the officers are hypnotising human soldiers and forcing them to fight in a never ending stalemate, for research purposes. The conditions are supposed to be accurate to actual human wars, ordinary men being manipulated into brutal and arbitrary violence under incredible harsh discipline and callous authority. The only difference is the reason they're fighting and whose pulling the strings.

In order to stop the bad guys the Doctor has to team up with bands of mutineers and unite all the rebel groups, soldiers of all armies and all times uniting against their officers to end war in a violent insurrection. And it ends with all the humans being sent back to their own times, but their memories are wiped meaning they go back to trying to kill each other. Which means the BBC show for children is saying war won't end until the soldiers turn their guns on their own superiors and unite against the common foe the rulers.
