Bus drivers strike in Hackney
Bus drivers at CT Plus bus company struck on the 2nd of June to following the sacking of a Unite shop steward.
The bus company provides Transport for London, school contracts and special need services, and just won a contract for the 2012 Olympics in London.
Action took place between 3.30am and 9.30am on June 2nd, and a second strike is planned for 13th June between 1.30pm and 7pm.
Bus workers wildcat in Liverpool
More than 100 bus drivers staged an unofficial strike at Arriva’s Speke depot yesterday (May 7th) hitting hundreds of services.
At 6am when the wildcat strike was called, the entire 120-strong bus fleet at the Shaw Road depot was grounded. Drivers returned to work at 10.30am and normal services were resumed on all routes by lunchtime.

More bus wildcats in Ireland
For the second week in a row, Bus Eirann workers in the mid-west of Ireland have gone on wildcat strike
29 part-time school bus drivers took part in the action, protesting increasing 'flexibility' in working practices. 2,000 children in Askeaton, Doon, Hospital, Kilfinnan, Newport and Pallaskenry were affected today as part-time school bus drivers carried out a strike at the Limerick bus depot for the second week running. The action also impacted on services in Tipperary and south Galway.
Bus drivers wildcat in Limerick
A wildcat strike of bus workers brought transport to a standstill across the west of Ireland today (Friday 4th April).
Twenty-five workers at the Bus Eirann bus company awaiting the implementation of a new pay deal took part in the stoppage as part of an ongoing dispute. The union, SIPTU, did not support the action, however, as it is still in negotiations at the Labour Relations Commission and urged the striking workers to go back to work.
More strikes expected as Greece passes pension reform
Greek unions promise to continue protests against the government's pension reforms, passed on Thursday.
The pension reform raises the retirement age for women to 65 and workers in hazardous industries will have to work an extra two years. Many accuse the conservative government of going back on pre-election promises not to cut pension rights.
Strike brings Brussels public transport to a halt
Public transport in Brussels was almost entirely halted on Wednesday, as bus and tram drivers went on strike for improved safety, after a bus was attacked with a molotov cocktail.
Starting at 6.30, citywide buses and trams were completely shut down. Metro services were reported to be overcrowded beyond capacity.
Greece heading towards general strike
Greek workers are set to go on general strike tomorrow (Wednesday 19th March) in protest of the government's planned pension reforms.
The government's reforms would mean the merging of pension funds and increasing the pension age for some workers. The government, however, has not made public any details on the size of savings that will accrue from the reforms. The trade unions have also argued that the current pension system could survive if bosses were made to pay their contributions.
France: workers strike, many win
Restaurant and tire workers have won strikes with a bus drivers' strike ongoing.
Michelin - Workers at the factory in Toul (Meurthe et Moselle) began strike action after plans were announced to close it down. As well as occupying and blockading the plant with pickets of burning tyres the 826 workers also confined two managers to their offices during the four-day strike.
Greece: general strike by public service workers
Public service workers in Greece have gone on strike, for the second time in two months, to defend their pensions.
The strikes have virtually paralysed the country as workers nation-wide seek to defend their pensions and protest against a government that has broken its promises.
