Initial impressions
Having just arrived, things are off to a nice start - lots of really cool comrades, a total of 14 groups are represented. I'd estimate we'll get to talk to about half of them - obviously who we can interview will depend on which groups are represented by English speakers!

1860-today: The International Workers Association
The history of the anarchist international from its origins in the 1860s through its height of several million members, to its later decline and current resurgence.
The International Workers Association was founded in Berlin in 1922, but its origins trace back to the 1860s and the International Working Men's Association, better known as the First International.
1918-1921: The Italian factory occupations - Biennio Rosso
A brief history of the Italian Biennio Rosso (two red years) and the mass factory occupations of 1920 where half a million workers ran their workplaces for themselves.
The reformist unions then negotiated an end to the conflicts, clearing the path for the fascist reaction - the Biennio Nero (two black years) of 1921-22.
Spain: Mercadona supermarket strike
Workers at the logistics centre in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, Barcelona of the Spanish Supermarket chain Mercadona are entering the fourth month of their indefinite strike.
The strike is organised by the CNT anarcho-syndicalist trade union.
Mercadona, whose slogan translates as "supermarkets of trust", is Spain's biggest national supermarket chain by sales, with 990 outlets across the country and 54,000 workers. The company likes to pride itself on its claim that 100% of its staff have permanent contracts.
