Brum strike

Brief personal report on the Birmingham November 30th Strike demo today.

Wage theft victory in South London

The Hartley, south London.

A pub worker and South London SF have together won 6 weeks in stolen wages after a campaign of direct action and threatening pickets of a London pub. Laura was employed by ‘The Hartley’ pub in South London. She was let go after she refused to work because she hadn't been paid for 6 weeks - owed over £700 dating back to mid-September.

I'm striking on N30 because...

...the ruling class is attacking all of us, not just our pensions but our jobs, benefits, public services and communities. It's about time we fought back.

Workmates: direct action workplace organising on the London Underground

Pamphlet cover

In the late 1990s, plans to outsource track maintenance on the London Underground were being pushed through by the government. Workers at one depot responded by forming a new workplace group, both inside and outside the existing union, the RMT. This pamphlet charts the highs and lows of the Workmates collective, highlighting their successes and failures, their radically democratic organising method and their creative forms of direct action. We hope it can provide an inspiration to other workers frustrated with the limits of the existing workplace organisations.

Outreach for June 30th

I thought it might be an idea to put some of the work the various anarchist groups have been doing in one place so anyone looking for literature to put out can use it. Attached is a quick booklet I've collated of designs and text from SolFed members.

Solidarity Federation to agency workers: together we can fight back and win!

Office Angels picket

The past couple of months have seen SolFed engage in an escalating “disruptive action” campaign to redress a case of unpaid wages by the world's largest employment agency. Four days into a national week of action, the Office Angels temporary agency capitulated and gave their ex-worker his due wages.
