The Commonweal

An incomplete archive of the publication The Commonweal produced by the Socialist League which was one of the earliest socialist/anarchist organisations in the UK, and edited by William Morris.

The Socialist League was formed in 1885 after a split from the Social Democratic Federation. By 1888 there was a split between the parliamentarians and anti-parliamentarians.

That usually works to get stuff below 16 and keep it readable

I've added documents in docx and odt as these have resulted in much smaller file sizes than the pdfs.

I had a look through these and unfortunately they were rife with OCR errors, so I have added the PDF in three parts instead

I have all the issues of The

I have all the issues of The Commonweal as pdf files in volumes by year. The trouble is apart from volume one all the files are larger than 32MB. Is there any other way they could be uploaded? Think I found them on Archive.org but it was over a year ago...

EDIT: Just read the comments above - attempting the compression thing now..

OK. I've compressed a couple of the volumes. It loses a bit of the quality though. Think I'll try to split the higher resolution scans into separate issues and then upload them bit by bit..
