Have you read the Buffy Monster Book by chris golden et al?

surprisingly well put together. not just the "monsters" in the TV shows but the literary and mythological background to them. book has no index though so can't say if belphegor is in the monster book.

(not read any of the Buffy novels or graphic novels - maybe one day!)
