Liberal infighting

Have anyone seen the back and forth between The Young Turks’ Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian and other liberal or progressive Youtubers in that ecosysyem? It all started with Cenk coming to a recent realization that MAGA/Republican voters are potential allies because they really are “anti-Establishment,” and there are certain positions (antiwar, cut defense spending, etc) on which they can form an alliance with them. Him and Ana have made friendly appearances in right wing outlets. At the same time, debates with other liberals on this seemingly right wing pivot are not so friendly.

What’s funny about this is to see the depths of liberal politics. Cenk never explains what it means to be open to MAGA and seeing potential alliances with them. His focus is only on what right wing pundits or politicians have said that shows that people on the Right have the credentials he attributed to them.

He has also taken positions on trans issues that basically throws trans people under the bus. He thinks Democrats have taken an unpopular position and focus on this issue, and that has costed them the recent election.

I actually think this has very little to do with liberal politics and much more to do with self-interested media personalities trying to triangulate an audience and funding in a period when the right is ascendant. I also think it's worth pointing out that a number of media personalities on the American socialist left (if the social democratic end of socialism) have made similar moves to the right for similar stated reasons.
