According to some sources, 150 million workers will be expected to strike on Friday (it's being called 'Bharat Bandh 2016').

Thanks for the info. There was a similar strike of around 100 million workers for one day a few years ago, but I don't really know what happened subsequently or if it ended up having much effect. These one day affairs usually have the effect of just letting workers blow off steam. Is there an indication that if they don't get what they want, disruptive action will continue?

Probably not, considering how shit/corrupt everything (including the mass "workers' organisations") are in India - any libcom users in India would know more than us.

On the theme of international revolts, there are also large protests in Venezuela today. Venezuela's an interesting case, since so much of the global Left are cheerleaders for the state-capitalist Maduro government (I haven't followed his stuff in a while, but I believe Chomsky's also supportive).
