I'm tired of mine too, punning on a bad '70s disco record and grain product long ago lost its appeal for me.

I would prefer the fun for all the family:

For fuck sake, could this place get anymore random.
I dont know about the rest of you, but I have formed opinions about people based on previous stuff they've said.
When I'm reading a thread theres posts I skip cos its from somebody I'm not expecting much from, and when i do read a post my past experience of that poster informs and gives context to my reading of what they're saying now.
Now everybody's going to get to change their fucking names?
Are we all supposed to read through these fuckers past posts to work out who we're talking to?
So fucking stupid.

What does the new name mean Atlemk?

It's Egyptian Arabic and it's got several meanings, but it's derogatory term for foreigner or tourist. So, depending on how it's said and the context it can mean fucking stupid tourist, ignorant foreigner stuff like that.

When I signed up I thought I would be able to change my nick and it be independent form my log-in, found that I couldn't. My present username is basically my name and for various reasons I do not want that to be the username anymore. But I understand your concern.

Sorry - I've decided to keep the name a bit longer. In any case it would confuse things horribly, wouldn't it? Or maybe my postings are confused enough already.

CT, fwiw I agree with you, hence why we don't allow people to change their names ad hoc. A one off (especially for a good reason like Khawaga's) is alright though.

afaik, all of the people with changed usernames, apart from one banned union hack, have posted in this thread, so you could just look here.

i think that's a good idea - unless for privacy reasons.

We don't want frequent name changes on a whim, but we'll allow it if there's a good reason.

Four things:

I thought I could touch up what I posted later on, but I am seeing now that once it's posted, I cannot change anything. So,...

1.) If I wanted to change some minor things or add a photo or re-design the layout, etc., is there some way that I can do that? At the least, might I ask someone to delete it so that I might repost it on, say, a future blog of my own here?

2.) Can someone or can I change my username now, please? I would like my username to be my real name. My current nick is "teeckard," but I want it to be "Thad Eckard." Thanks. I have no problem with anonymity or lack thereof. I do not care if the government or the klan knows I am a socialist.

3.) Can I please have a blog? I have enough for a blog about the philosophy of what Yugoslavians and Marxist-humanists once called "self-management." I had it on another blog years ago, but I also deleted that blog years ago. I'd like to re-edit those posts it and re-post an updated version of that blog, and I think this would be a good place for that to happen.

4.) If I had my own blog, do I get to edit what I post, etc., like with other blogs? That would solve my problem.
