I know the djvu file I tested gave me like a 64 mb pdf, but after compressing it I got it down to 13 mb. Just make sure the compressed quality is still readable and all that. There are all sorts of web tools you can use if you search on google.
That is very strange since the conversion between DjVu and PDF usually is a smooth process. Did you try the following service https://www.djvu-pdf.com/ already. It offers various options and one of them usually always works fine...
