Hi guys
Just seen this new user pop up on the listings for who is using the site at the mo -if you go to their profile it's a chuffing ad for mobile ringtones.
I dunno if this is the kind of topic that gets posted here - sorry if it isn't

In reply to by libcom.org

wtf are all these drugs? Are they good? Stop banning them i need to know!

Tacks

13 years 10 months ago

In reply to by libcom.org

Xenical

The primary side effects of the drug are gastrointestinal-related, and include steatorrhea—that is, oily, loose stools; because orlistat blocks some of the dietary fat from being absorbed, the fat is excreted unchanged in the feces—, fecal incontinence, frequent or urgent bowel movements, and flatulence. GlaxoSmithKline recommends that Alli users be cautious of the possible side effects until they "have a sense of any treatment effects".[11][12] To minimize these effects, foods with high fat content should be avoided; the manufacturer advises consumers to follow a low-fat, reduced-calorie diet. Oily stools and flatulence can be controlled by reducing the dietary fat content to somewhere in the region of 15 grams per meal.

not going to replace cocaine any time soon then.

PS - if you don't want to shit urself then you need to go on a low fat diet. If you are on a low fat diet then you've probably made taking this drug refuckingdundant. So basically, xenical is a voluntary blackmail device for fatties - "put the pie down or you'll cack yourself".

Would it be feasible to make it so if new users had to be approved before they can post/have a publically viewable profile?

Felix Frost

You can also check what user-agent they are using and block that. Clever spam-robots will give a fake user-agent though and pretend to be regular Firefox or IE users, so this doesn't always work.

I admit I’m guilty of thinking this way too: I’d always believed that Nozick ended up as political centrist who potentially supported moderate state interventions into many spheres of human action, based upon his famous, or infamous, essay “The Zigzag of Politics.” I have to say I still find it hard to reconcile this essay with his claims that he remained a libertarian.

It's clearly a c&p from a long and crazy website somewhere and is spamming some book on Amazon. Not banned the poster but it might need to be done.

Hi all

I would like to ask for deletion of inappropriate and slanderous posts in one of the public .

However, I don’t seem to be able to find the link to send the moderators an email. Normally there is a feedback from rather than asking to directly post here. I would not like to write about it here as such post will be picked up by Google and the Criminal in question is likely to attempt to retaliate. Furthermore a link to the thread is also likely to increase the page ranking which is not what I want.

Any help is very much appreciated

For example:
[quote]
This act of exchange abstracts from their qualitative differences as use-values created by distinct acts of concrete labor and a commonality/homogeneity is found between the two different commodities based on the amount of social labour required to reproduce them and thus the value of the commodity, based on social labour, is derived. the value, expressed in price, of that commodity can be split into two parts the cost price - being the element that the capitalist has paid.

the name looks familiar, they might have nicked that too. There have been a few french spammers recently, I think they think that we won't notice that they're spam links because they're foreign. They've also copied and pasted better bits to make them look halfway relevant.

I think it's time for a more serious CAPTCHA mechanism, as it seems that bots are learning basic arithmetic really well.

Hey, I'm ok with the basic arithmetic - but if you make the captcha more complex, it could knock me off- and I might guess a fair few others without natural talent :wall: for numbers.

Personally you need to decide if you want to respect the picket line (which it's obvious you do) and if you can. If it's a choice between crossing and losing your job then that's a very hard choice and not one that anyone should pressure you with either way.
I think what you've said about tryign to get a group of people together is a very good idea, the risk of this is that you could be fired for organising an illegal strike or something similar.
Is it possible for you to refuse to do your job on health and safety grounds during the strike. For example if there are no support staff it might be possible to close down the building using fire codes etc.

Don't know about the reporting, but it looks as if there's been a cut and paste from the pickets thread.

Just opened up 20 of the last registered posters and deleted 15 as spammers, the others had no posts or profile info to check.
How much do we care about this issue and is there a quicker way of dealing with it if we do? Obviously it doesn't affect libcom too much if loads of profiles on here are full of spam links as long as they're not posting.

There was an interesting variety of spam, levelling up in wow, wow gold, aspen ski homes, SEO experts, acupressure, a blog for Moms and so much more :)

I checked out a few of the poster names in the sidebar and delted over half of them because they were spammers, I then looked at the last 20 people to register (except two I'd looked at already) and deleted 18 of them as spammers.
Is it worth the effort of deleting them or not?
Do we have a registration confirmation to the email address?
