Dictatorship & Information Manipulation

Submitted by niafar on January 6, 2018

Hey everyone,

I'm searching for some books and resources on information manipulation and other related stuff run by intelligent services, especially in a dictatorship like North Korea and Russia. By related issues I mean for example that how a government creates fake opposition, or how they take control of protests and lead people to enter a fight that their loss is inevitable. I focus more on Cyber activity, but I'm not limited myself to this.

As an example, I found this article really interesting,

I hope I could express my thoughts clearly enough. Please let me know if there is any unclarity!

Thanks in advance,

The topic you are looking for is 'propaganda'.
Books by Chomsky are good if a little dated (being pre-internet) on this

On state propaganda;
This Wikipedia page might be of use

Specifically you might be interested in so-called 'black propaganda'
