inspired by this thread https://libcom.org/forums/organise/union-organising-app-07112015
I made an organising app today on http://snappy.appypie.com/, it is really easy to use, I recommend people to play around with it, and look for other app building sites
I haven't published it yet as they charge 500$ (though there is a 30 day trial in which they refund you no questions asked)
it is based on 4 features
1. news, based on a RSS feed from LabourStart ( I am also considering adding an RSS feed from Dialectical Delinquent's news of opposition though I don't know how to create one - nor do I have their approval)
2. theory, several well presented pages of organising advice taken from http://libcom.org/organise
also a testimonial page allows people to give stories of their jobs, conditions and tales of resistance
3. solidarity, this would give a list of local activists and groups in your area, as well as a map of the world with pins showing the location of activists and groups so that you can search for people in your area. Which means if a worker or workplace want to take action they can get face to face advice from activists.
moreover if this app became widespread, people could look for other app users in their own workplace and community (necessarily with pseudonyms and secret codes to prevent management spies)
and even more ambitiously, use this to co ordinate wider strikes, mobilisations, demonstrations, gatherings etc.
4. union registration, a feature allows people to sign up to the union though I need to look into fees and legalities, but this app could potentially be registered as a union, meaning any workplace who registers has state protection to assemble and take action?
moreover the app admin group could be autonomous from the membership allowing the union to have an invariable focus on class struggle (though the app itself would have no explicit communist propaganda, it would show the strengths of direct action and grass roots organising)
possible names; μnion, DIY union, libcom, labr, organisr etc.
I think I will create it for the 30 days, get some feedback from libcommers and then fund raise and build a better app with other interested volunteers

it might be worth trying unity or game maker. i know they are focused on games but i don't see any reason you couldn't make a non game app with them, and they have free versions
