IFA founding congress audio, from 1968

Submitted by little_brother on June 22, 2018

Whilst pulling together some material for an article about IFA on the 50th anniversary of its founding in Carrara Italy, I found this multilingual audio recording from 1968:
https://archive.org/details/1erCongrsDeLinternationaleDesFdrationsAnarchistes-Carrare1968
Some summary text accompanies the audio.
It would be great to have a full transcript...

That's fantastic, thanks for adding it. My French is well ropey so a transcript would be good.

Yes, it's pretty amazing to have this two hour recording. There is one speaker (from Japan) in English, the rest in French, Spanish and Italian so a full transcript would be a collective effort.

The other material I'd like to read is in the IISH (Netherlands) which is collection of documents of the London Federation of Anarchists which includes correspondence leading up to the Carrara congress: https://search.socialhistory.org/Record/ARCH00836
There is a mention of its acquisition in a journal/report called 'News of the Profession':
https://www.cambridge.org/core/services/aop-cambridge-core/content/view/214E64889B921B6A5C980FAB0B055BC6/S0020859000113318a.pdf/div-class-title-news-of-the-profession-div.pdf
"London Federation of Anarchists (LFA)
Period: 1965-1969
Size: 0.12 m.
Documents relating to the Anarchist International Conference at Carrara,
Italy in 1968, including bulletins and circulars of the preparatory commission
and correspondence with Guy Malouvier of the Fe"de"ration Anarchiste (Paris)
and others 1966-1968; bulletins and circulars 1965-1968; correspondence
1967-1969; financial documents 1967-1969; various copies of periodicals, bulletins
and pamphlets 1968-1969; clippings, mainly on World War II 1939-1942."

Now, if anyone has been and got hold of this already, do tell.

https://books.google.es/books/about/Alla_prova_del_Sessantotto.html?id=t63aAAAAMAAJ&redir_esc=y

And here is in Spanish:

But in the book there is much more documentation than cd's transcriptions.
Google took it from Michigan University, but neither can download it: https://search.lib.umich.edu/catalog/record/005984241?query=Alla%20prova%20del%20Sessantotto&utm_source=MLibrary

August 31th, 1968. Just 50 years ago, the Anarchist International Conference started in Carrara.

Alasbarricadas has published a long article about it. (in spanish).
https://www.alasbarricadas.org/noticias/node/40594

There are images, audio links (french, the japanese delegate in "english"), a pair of youtube videos and a quite a lof bibliography in multiple lenguages.

For example, here is the pdf of freedom journal with the report of the brittish delegate (Stuart Christie).

In this youtube video you can see the ambient and Cohn-Bendit behaving weirdly.
