Canada would be seen as a “banana republic” if it scrapped a $15-billion deal to sell armed vehicles to Saudi Arabia, Justin Trudeau says.

The youthful, popular prime minister represents a refreshing change from Harper-era conservatism—but how progressive is he really?

With a deeply unpopular predecessor, a storied last name, and a youthful countenance, the Liberal Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has the kind of profile that most any politician would kill for, a year into office. And his record of accomplishments so far, including legalizing marijuana, marching as the first sitting PM in a Pride parade, and commiting to resettling 50,000 refugees this year, have only burnished his reputation as a progressive.

But all that glitters is not gold. The self-proclaimed feminist leader may have brought together disaffected conservatives and center-left progressives, but here are five reasons why he’s not as progressive as the rhetoric makes him out to be.

Yeah, dude's a fucking piece of work. He was more than happy to pass the draconian surveillance measures as contained in Bill C-51, but Harper got almost all of the flak.

‘Beauty’ and ‘politics’…

https://www.jacobinmag.com/2017/04/alt-right-lana-lokteff-racism-misogyny-women-feminism/

Apparently:

In almost every single interview and speech, Lokteff stresses how “beautiful” and “attractive” the people of the alt-right are:

“They’re smart, beautiful women who understand that mass immigration is not working. . . . Nationalism has become the guy that everyone wants. All the girls are starting to eye the bad boy who is the nationalist. . . . European nationalists and the alt-right are a very attractive, very sexy bunch. It’s a eugenic process. Matches are being made left and right of beautiful couples. Now it’s time to procreate.”

Can’t make up my mind whether to laugh, extend my sympathy to Lokteff, or vomit.

Actually, nothing is funny anymore…

this is a constant theme with rightwingers, e.g. on a daily basis you could read that Trump's wife is "beautiful" and "classy", unlike the wife of the previous president.

Justin Trudeau is a fucking nightmare for the environment, he's a hypocritical, slimy, double-dealing toad. On the other hand, he's legalizing weed within the year, so that's me bought off.
