Finland held a general election in April this year, and following painstaking, and in the Finnish context lengthy, negotiations the most right-wing government that Finland's had since the 1930s was formed. The majority of the Finnish elite have supported the idea of Finland joining NATO for a long time already. After Russia's attack to Ukraine, support of the prospect has risen throughout the entire population due to fear of war. The elite wants to use this situation as an opportunity to submit a membership application to NATO.

Please note that because of border closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival will most likely be postponed to the spring or summer of 2021, and held under a different name. The new festival date will be announced no later than December 1. On December 1, we will share information about how to apply for a Finnish visa and crossing the border.
