DAVOUD RAFIEI, A WORKERS RIGHTS ACTIVIST HAS BEEN PUNISHED WITH 74 LASHES IN IRAN
According to the Iranian Social Media; On Thursday, November 26, 2020, DAVOUD RAFIEI, a Workers Rights Activist, was sentenced to seventy-four beatings with the whip by Evin Prison Prosecution Authority in North Tehran, and before notification of the final judgment has been enforced
The worker, Davood Rafiei had been fired from his job in 2012 along with a number of other workers during a protest action at the vehicle factory “Pars Khodro”. He was arrested on November 8, 2016 and after that has been arrested several times
Davood Rafiei was accused of insulting against ALI RABIEI the former “Minister of Labour and Social Welfare” and now the states spokesman, due to a several-day sit-in strike 2017 with slogans on placards against minister in front of the Ministry Building in Tehran
Davood Rafiei was arrested 2018 in demand of ministry by the security police during this protest action, with the requirement of his unpaid wages during the unemployment years 2012-2018. He was later released temporarily on bail pending the “trial
