Order from the Commander-in-Chief of the Ruhr Red Army

An order from August Müller, outlining the combat leadership of Section I (or Section West) of the Ruhr Red Army. The document can be found in "Abschnittsführer der rheinisch-westfälischen Roten Armee, Gottfried Karusseit, und der Roten Armee, Büro Kölpin, No. 148" in the "State Archives of North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland Department".

Also, it isn't mentioned in the document but a pencil note on the original document demonstrated that special commanders were also appointed for the special weapons. They were:

Commander of the Mortars: Merfeld
Commander of the Artillery: Lorezn
Weapons Master: [No name was mentioned]

The section combat leadership consists of the following comrades:

Headquarters "Haus Malta"

Combat Leader I: Rob
Combat Leader II: Lorenz
Combat Leader III: Christmann

As field-expert advisors: Comrades Müller and Schäfer.

Only the three combat leaders provide signatures. Orderlies with equipment will be assigned. One of the combat leaders must always be present at the combat leadership. All orders regarding the quartering of infantry, artillery, etc., are issued by the combat leadership. It receives its instructions from the headquarters.

Care must be taken to ensure harmonious cooperation.

It is of interest to note that a chain of command—very much after the fashion of bourgeois armies—existed within the Ruhr Red Army, compared with, say, the revolutionists of the industrial heartland of Tel-al-Za 'tar, Lebanon, that had leadership but no chain of command, being merely workers armed in the factories to assert their dictatorship.
