Thanks for your support. i hope other comrades will join us. This is a meeting aimed at understanding why it's a matter of life and death for the working class to defend economic migrants and war refugees, in order to be able to explain this more clearly to larger numbers of people

World Revolution 374, containing two articles in response to Brexit and part three of the series on refugees, will be out soon. I'll post a link when the articles ore online. The morning discussion at Saturday's meeting will look at the refugee question in a historical framework. the afternoon will focus more on contemporary issues - Brexit and the rise of populism internationally.

I don't want to inundate anyone with texts but if you fancy it this is a very good statement from the ICC on the German national situation
http://en.internationalism.org/international-review/201605/13940/national-situation-germany

It is entirely relevant to the discussion proposed above and bears heavily on the question of immigration and populism and this in one of the most important and central countries of Europe.

Can I offer some (hopefully) constructive criticism by way of a question? Who's this meeting aimed at?

Cause, like, the topics seem really quite dense - with all the suggested reading and all - but the conclusions seem liked they'd be pretty clear to someone who willing to do all that reading.

Fair question, and perhaps the reading list has got a bit long....but we think that there's a lot to discuss in these issues and their ramifications in recent events, even among people who may feel they have a good grasp of the overall politics - as you yourself have noted, the furore around the referendum has sent quite a few anarchists off the rails.
We don't have any illusions about aiming at a 'mass audience' with a meeting like this. We are aiming mainly at a small minority in the process of searching for class politics, within which we are an even smaller minority...
