This is the last Crass song they recorded. I don't like the anti-Americanism but I like the rest.
'Mac' referred to Ian McGregor, the scum sucking manager of the British Coalboard at the time of the strike.
To be noted is the fact that the first ever word that Crass put on vinyl was 'Fuck' and the last ever two words were 'fuck off', which I feel is worthy of credit in and of itself.

Not a music thing but one of my favourite podcasts is Lore http://www.lorepodcast.com/

It's scary stories, based on real life (mostly) American history and events. It delves into folklore and urban legends, like the Jersey Devil and the various malevolent creatures which live in the woods and how TB in rural New England was seen as a manifestation of vampirism, as well as real-life places, such as the hotel which was the inspiration for The Shining. It's legit sent shivers down my spine at times and it's a great short listen if you like a little spooky escapism.
I don't listen to a lot of music either. Currently on my car CD player I have Count Arthur Stong's Radio Show(not to be confused with the rotten TV show and variou Jeeves books read by the genius Jonathon Cecil.

The soundtrack to this game is fucking awesome.
Good old Maggie, everyone's favourite scapegoat. Not to me though, just the natural progression of capitalism like Blair after her. Big faces with nobodies as fillers in between. Is May the new target or do we have to wait for a bigger, more evil(lol) one? Bwahaha!
I'm not that fond of heavy metal, generally speaking, but I've been listening to a lot of it, lately. I'm primarily listening to Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, and Mastodon, as well as Anthrax's The Sound of White Noise. I just got into Mastodon pretty recently, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed.

System of a Down were just awesome when I saw them a couple of times around 2000 but I lost track of that type of music as Slipknot became increasingly annoying and disappointing. Shame really.

Unfortunately, I have never had the privilege of seeing them (or, for that matter, any of the other aforementioned bands) live. I think it's unfair that SOAD is so often lumped in with bands like Slipknot. I think the conflation is unfair, and superficial. I think SOAD are significantly more sophisticated.

Absolutely. For straight out energy and bombast though Slipknot were unsurpassable around '99. SOAD frequently played gigs with the other metal bands of the time so the lumping in was kind of inevitable but along with Amen they were the best band around that scene. Strictly speaking though I wouldn't really classify either as metal at all.
I used to be a metalhead myself back in the day thanks to the thrash metal my older brother listened to, then bands like Slipknot and SOAD came along. I still think Sepultura have got to be one the all time best metal bands, I remember enjoying Soulfly aswell, but yeah there were quite a few bands I liked. I always enjoyed SOAD and a new release by them was a big thing, unfortunately I was very much into Slipknot at the time which I kinda look back on now and cringe at, but hey I was young. Rage Against the Machine were another band I was into in a big way and I had all their best albums. Never got to see any of these bands live myself, I remember hoping I'd see Slipknot but then 9/11 happened and they cancelled their tour.
Cringe? Don't be daft. Age has nothing to do with it either, I was 35! One of my favourite ever records is Abba's Dancing Queen which I bought when I was 10.
Anyway, this stands up as an awesome piece of music, innovation and theatrics however shit they turned out to be and whatever else they are at least they're not the fucking Beatles.
Skip to 1.50. I saw these guys at the LA2 and can only liken their sound to a 50' Harley revving harder and harder al the way through the set. Quite breathtaking and in the top 5 gigs I've ever attended including Crass, the Birthday Party and Sonic Youth.

Radiohead's latest - Moon Shaped Pool - has pretty much been on repeat since it's release too, personally speaking I reckon it's in their tope three, incredibly beautiful production.
I wrote a poem and when I read it back it made me think of Pyramid Song. So I randomly found the video below. At the time it seemed so closely connected to my poem and listening was magical. In fact, I had a good old cry. Just watched it again and it no longer has the feeling of connection that I had but there does still seem to be a relation between the song and the poem. Here they both are...
I imagined I was standing on a bridge
I looked down at the water far below
It looked black and hard like beaten metal
I felt I should jump and discover it's true nature
Fear held me back
I wanted no pain
I did not seek death
So I stood
And looked
After a while a sudden energy coursed through me
Starting at my feet, it pushed me up in to the air
I could not resist
And then I fell
Down and down
Soon I was sliding through the water's steel surface
And then, enveloped by the freezing ink, something in me changed
I felt at home
The water became warm and soft like gently heated oil
And I knew that I could stay there forever
Warm, protected and free from pain
But I had to choose and into my mind came the things I love
The seasons, trees and fields, architecture, sport, music, laughter and most of all, Jane
I knew my choice
I knew where I belonged
And then I was back on the bridge
I stopped looking down
Instead I looked all around me
360 degrees
Anyone who saw Bertolucci’s ‘1900’, will remember this old song, it was sung when the women lay down in front of the cavalry.

Fear we do not have
For the love of our children
Socialism we want
Refrain :
O li o li o la
And the Union will grow
And we socialists
And we socialists
O li o li o la
And the Union will grow
And we workers
We want liberty!
But freedom does not come
Because we're not united
The scabs with the boss
The scabs with the boss
But freedom does not come
Because we're not united
The scabs with the boss
They should all be killed
Refrain
Although we are women
Fear we do not have
We have good tongues

I got no time for the corner boys
Down in the street making all that noise
Or the girls out on the avenue
'Cause tonight I want to be with you
Tonight I'm gonna take that ride
Across the river to the Jersey side
Take my baby to the carnival
And I'll take her on all the rides
'Cause down the shore everything's all right
You and your baby on a Saturday night
You know all my dreams come true
When I'm walking down the street with you
Sha la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la
Sha la la la I'm in love with a Jersey girl
You know she thrills me with all her charms
When I'm wrapped up in my baby's arms
My little girl gives me everything
I know that some day she'll wear my ring
So don't bother me man I ain't got no time
I'm on my way to see that girl of mine
'Cause nothing matters in this whole wide world
When you're in love with a Jersey girl
Sha la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la
Sha la la la I'm in love with a Jersey girl
I see you on the street and you look so tired
I know that job you got leaves you so uninspired
When I come by to take you out to eat
you're lyin' all dressed up on the bed baby fast asleep
Go in the bathroom and put your makeup on
We're gonna take that little brat of yours and drop her off at your moms'
I know a place where the dancings free
Now baby won't you come with me
'Cause down the shore everything's all right
You and your baby on a Saturday night
Nothing matters in this whole wide world
When you're in love with a Jersey girl
Mother Anarchy Loves Her Sons- song written by Nestor Makhno (1919)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5B6dytjdMU

Our horses are running mile after mile, Cause Freedom is priceless. Through the slot of my machine gun I'm looking for the enemy in the dust. Mother Anarchy loves her sons, Mother Anarchy is not for sale. We'll wait for the enemy, with lead we'll destroy them Mother Anarchy is with us! I'll put my knife into the fire And then I'll sneak closer. Nothing to be sorry for into the fight, Nothing to be sad about. Mother Anarchy loves her sons... The only thing that makes me happy is the dead one, killed by the strength of my friend. The only thing I can see and remain calm Is the dead enemy. Mother Anarchy loves her sons... We'll wait for the enemy, with lead we'll destroy them Mother Anarchy is with us!
A YouTube playlist of tunes that in some way have something to help with the creation of some music which I hope to get started on in a couple of months time. They're all old but I intend the music I make to be modern in some way. Probably all old musical farts think that but fail!!!

I'm not that fond of heavy
I'm not that fond of heavy metal, generally speaking, but I've been listening to a lot of it, lately. I'm primarily listening to Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, and Mastodon, as well as Anthrax's The Sound of White Noise. I just got into Mastodon pretty recently, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed.

NGNM85 wrote: Noah Fence

Edit: By the way NG, welcome to Libcom.

I used to be a metalhead

That Radiobead video is
That Radiobead video is magnificent.
I stopped looking down
Instead I looked all around me
360 degrees
Then I walked away
With a grin from ear to ear

Anyone who saw Bertolucci’s
Anyone who saw Bertolucci’s ‘1900’, will remember this old song, it was sung when the women lay down in front of the cavalry.

English Translation
The Union
Although we are women
Fear we do not have
For the love of our children
For the love of our children
Although we are women
Fear we do not have
For the love of our children
Socialism we want
Refrain :
O li o li o la
And the Union will grow
And we socialists
And we socialists
O li o li o la
And the Union will grow
And we workers
We want liberty!
But freedom does not come
Because we're not united
The scabs with the boss
The scabs with the boss
But freedom does not come
Because we're not united
The scabs with the boss
They should all be killed
Refrain
Although we are women
Fear we do not have
We have good tongues
We have good tongues
Although we are women
Fear we do not have
We have good tongues
And we defend well
Refrain
And you fine gentlemen
Who have such pride
Close your pride
Close your pride
And you fine gentlemen
That have such pride
Close your pride
And open your wallet
O li o li o la
And the Union will grow
And we workers
And we workers
O li o li o la
And the Union will grow
And we workers
We want our pay!
O li o li o la
And the Union will grow
And we socialists
And we socialists
O li o li o la
And the Union will grow
And we socialists
We want freedom!

Mother Anarchy Loves Her
Mother Anarchy Loves Her Sons- song written by Nestor Makhno (1919)
