New Years Greetings from the
Metro New York / New Jersey
Workers Solidarity Alliance
Dear friends and comrades,
New Years greetings from the Metro New York / New Jersey
Workers Solidarity Alliance.
As 2016 ends, we witnessed an uptick in vicious racist, sexist and capitalist attacks against people of color, LGBQT identified folks and the working class in general.
No matter who won the presidential election, we anticipate that
continued attacks on our lives will continue, perhaps a bit more bold and aggressive with Trump. But we are also of the opinion that Clinton’s agenda, while not as harsh as Trump’s, would have continue the subtle and not so subtle erosion of our daily lives.
We look forward to 2017 as an opportunity to engage new people and old.
Although many of us work in different and sometimes competing organizations, we hope to rekindle some old relationships.
Perhaps with the all around attacks on the working class, communities of color, the possibilities for building and developing relationships and the possibilities for joint initiatives in the class struggle to combat racism, sexism, the state and capitalism may present itself.
As Metro New York / New Jersey Workers Solidarity Alliance slowly rebuilds, we hope to build and solidify mutual respect with others and deepen our participation in the social and workers movement, in Metro New York / New Jersey, nationally and globally.
We look forward to victories that empower the working class and move us closer to international libertarian socialist revolution.
To our comrades and friends in the global and domestic movements, whatever real or perceived political, tactical or personal differences that may exist, we will try and do our best in standing in solidarity with all legit strikes and struggles that you engage in.
Our local of the Workers Solidarity Alliance would like to extend our wishes for a successful and vibrant year of organizing in 2017to one and all.
Yours in solidarity,
Metro New York / New Jersey

I read somewhere that things have to get worse before they get better. I wonder if that was what was in Trump voters' minds, probably giving them too much credit.

I think that a majority of Trump's (of-racist) working class voters, prolly thought it couldn't get any worse for them.

They'll be disappointed when he fails to improve their conditions or to deliver on any of his campaign promises, not that that's necessarily a bad thing. I can already see Alex Jones disavowing him as some NWO shill or something to that effect.
Happy New Year syndicalist
