'The source and the remedy' (1821 pamphlet)

Submitted by spacious on May 17, 2017

'The source and the remedy' (full title: "The Source and Remedy of the National Difficulties, deduced from principles of political economy in a letter to Lord John Russell") is the name of an anonymous pamphlet from 1821 that Marx quotes several times in the Grundrisse. The message basically that "real wealth is disposable time".

I was wondering if anyone has the full text of the pamphlet somewhere? or perhaps more about the context of its publication. Would be nice to have it in the libcom library.

Yes, it is, cheers. Odd that result didn't come up in my own search.

Ooooh, thanks for this. I hadn't noticed that Marx quoted someone when he wrote "real wealth is disposable time" so it's great to have access to the original pamphlet.
