Convergence of Rojava and Saudi Arabia

PKK (Kurdish workers party) is a master of political maneuver. No one but them can work together with American imperialism and with leftist anti-American anti-imperialists, with fighters for the rights of homosexuals and, at the same time, with Saudi Wahhabis. PKK does that, firmly, step by step building the Foundation for the future of the secular and capitalist independent Kurdistan, controlled by one party. As stated in the Kurdish saying : "Kurds Have no friends but the mountains." All the others - allies that PKK uses very effectively.

The visit of the Saudi Minister of the Gulf Tamer al-Sabhan in Raqqa with a proposal to restore the city has got criticism from Damascus. The information Minister of Syria Muhammad Ramiz Turgeman said the government will not support the efforts of other States to the reconstruction of devastated areas. It seems Damascus has reasons for concern: experts attribute this visit of Saudi Minister as the Kingdom intends to give the Kurds their support in Syria.

The emerging Union of Saudi Arabia and Rojava is now one of the most interesting phenomena. Saudis fear the huge amplification of the Iranian state (it became a fact) and they are ready to ally against him with PKK. This Union provides a great opportunity for Rojave.

"This project just provides services associated with the restoration of various objects, "said Professor of the chair of modern East Department of history, political science and law Gregory Kosach. – Of course, anything can be considered in the context of countering Iranian influence. Since we are talking about Raqqa is the first thing that comes to mind. But regardless of the struggle with Iran this kind of assistance can be provided. Much more interesting is another question. Saudi Arabia almost openly establishes connection with the Syrian Kurds...". (1)

Of course Rojava interested in Saudi businessmen and government began the restoration of Raqqa and other cities destroyed during the war. The leader of the PKK offices in Rojava (PYD) Salih Muslim as the Kurdish local economists have long advocated the involvement of foreign investors in Rojava. Advisor on economic development of the Kurdish Canton of Jazira (the largest Canton of Rojava) Abdurahman Chemo said in his interview: "If we get no opening to the outside world, our economy will stay the same, and there will be no development. But we need outside investment. To organize it, the government has passed a law called “open economy” to organize it. Any outside investor would have to respect the economy." (2)

From the point of view Rojava project of PKK is a very competent fundamental political and economic project (in the framework of capitalism and modern diplomacy, of course). However, it looks like the system in Rojava will remain one-party...

But if PKK creates a country along with supporters of Barzani, Talabani or the liberal Movement Goran (Change) - PKK already have been suggesting the Union of different Kurdish parties - then multi-party system wood be better with more freedom of speech and of the press.
