I am rather pessimistic about online reading groups...they all seem to die a death.
Better, i think, are face-to-face readers group of perhaps a magazine discussing the issue's contents.
Or perhaps tackling pamphlets rather than books which are pretty demanding on time.
If something substantial is to be tackled, maybe there is already You Tube video series on it and these can be viewed and debated.
Maybe as an alternative to reading a book...cooperating in the research of a (local) history project or the past development and evolution of a particular subject...What is the history of socialism/anarchism in your district?..and the record of the strikes and disputes in your industry?
It depends on the book. Were you thinking political theory, something more like an accoutn/biography or working class literature or just any kind of reading.
I just finished Rivethead which was quite good at describing the life of a GM factory worker, although there were homophobic and misogynistic undertones, which weren't always so under actually.
I don't see why an online group couldn't work, but it is easier face to face, I'm meeting a friend next week to discuss a book we are both supposed to read for work.

I'd be up for something like this, online. I still haven't got round to reading Bray's book which others seem to approve of, if this is what you have in mind. It shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of some digital copy.

I can't at the moment as I have too much on, however people here did a capital volume 1 reading group online which I think worked pretty well.
So you could give it a go if there is interest!
