Mobile interface

Submitted by jondwhite on August 15, 2016

Any chance of a mobile interface for iphones and other mobile devices? Can't help thinking I've already asked this but can't find it.

Behind the scenes we are working on a redesign of the site, a central feature of this will be making it work better on mobiles

On many articles and blog posts using mobile chrome on Android I'm getting a pop up that says "make mobile friendly?" and pages get turned into a reader view, just FYI.

Having a separate 'events' section would also make sense.

Will this happen in 2018?

It should do yes. We're going to upgrade directly from Drupal 6 to Drupal 8. The hardest thing is the migration of content, and that's about 70% complete (hopefully, sometimes the last 10% can take as long as the first 90%..).

Once that's done it's a case of a new theme and redoing all the content listings, which is generally both quicker and something that can be done iteratively once the basics are in place.

After the change we'll hopefully be able to do small upgrades every 6-12 months instead of massive ones every 5-6 years as well.

hey, yes like Mike says we are working on it. If anyone wants to help us they can support us on patreon, which will help us sort out the upgrade and keep the site more up-to-date in future: https://www.patreon.com/libcom

Is this as simple as adding

to the existing html or whatever the css equivalent is?

How come? The line seems to work at adjusting for mobile interfaces in other HTML pages.

It's not that simple.

If you want to learn about Drupal development try downloading Aquia Drupal or something like that. And then you can ask questions on StackOverflow or watch Youtube vids etc..
