On Wednesday 23rd May, libcom member Mike Harman announced their intention to abandon all commitment to revolutionary politics and join the Liberal Democrats, following disagreements on identity politics and the progressive nature of reforms. Harman claims that libcom is no longer a safe space, and feels that many of the criticisms levelled against their ideas recently border on microaggressions.
The decision was greeted with disappointment, but not surprise, by the libcom community.
"After many years of converging towards a liberal, identity politics", libcom user Anonymous noted, "Harman has finally settled into place with an organisation that meets his needs."
When asked for a response to the above statement, Harman simply pointed to the "discriminatory" and "offensive" nature of the comment as an example of libcom's lack of a "safe" environment.
Since 2013, Harman has identified as an otherkin, specifically a catkin (someone who identifies as a feline), with preferred pronouns "fel, fel, felis, felis, feliself", and therefore the pronouns "he, him, ..." do not reflect fel's complex identity.
Part of this complex identity includes a sexual attraction to cats. In a Tumblr post from several years ago, Harman expressed this sexual identity by stating "I've noticed a lot of attraction toward cats in general, but specifically female or trans cats".
When asked about fel's future, Harman responded that fel intends to run for office and campaign for the rights of oppressed minorities, with particular emphasis on securing recognition for the otherkin community, and campaign for safe spaces. For Harman, like most identity-political activists, concrete political action takes the form of working with the State and company HR departments to ensure politically-correct terminology is enforced across society.
I don't think this alt-right
I don't think this alt-right 4chan nonsense belongs on libcom.
Jesus Christ, it's a
Jesus Christ, it's a libcommunity article - fictional humour, not news.
libcommunity hasn't existed
libcommunity hasn't existed in many years. And since currently there is a long thread on identity politics, this just reads like a bystander insult. The type of, to use a UK term, "laddish humor" really adds nothing and is indistinguishable from the sort of posts you see from "anime nazis" on some of the online cesspools they frequent.
Also, considering your
Also, considering your outburst in that other thread where you seem to indicate your anger that you're not allowed to mispronoun people in your workplace, this is a bit rich.
so its go all the usual
so its go all the usual features, equates support for any kind of social progress with liberalism, mocks safe spaces, claims opponents are offended, compares trans people with bestiality, a classic peace of homophobic rhetoric, complains about a conspiracy to suppress free speech, its a classic piece of alt right... what do you mean a communist?

Pretending to be a reactionary isn’t funny.
Odds on me seeing Craftwork
Odds on me seeing Craftwork on Grindr looking for 'shemales' and sending increasingly threatening eight page rants when I ignore his dick pic? I mean, it's at least 50/50 at this point right?

Too right. Especially when the last decade of internet culture was fascists saying they were 'pretending' to be reactionary to 'wind up pc sjws lol' as a method of spreading reactionary ideas they fully believed in.
Hoo boy, can you eat shit,
Hoo boy, can you eat shit, son.
Go join Helen Steel or what ever her name is. You'll get on proper. Supporting anti-abortion campaigners and white nationalists, just as long as they're against filthy trannies like us.

OK, so I can understand
OK, so I can understand everyone focusing on how this is reactionary and that, but can we just take a moment to acknowledge how shite it is too?
My favourite thing about this
My favourite thing about this is that when I first read it, without seeing Craftwork's meltdown on the other thread, I thought there was at least, ooh, a 40% chance that it was actually supposed to be a clever pisstake of the kind of frothing reactionary who would actually think this made sense.
Stewart Lee meets Craftwork would probably be quite a good bit: "so he says to me, the trouble with political correctness nowadays is that if you point out that Angela Nagle's a plagiarist who misrepresents Germaine Greer, it means you have to join the Liberal Democrats. So I said really, it means you have to join the Liberal Democrats? And he says yes. And I say, just for pointing out that Angela Nagle's a plagiarist who misrepresents Germaine Greer? And he says yes, if you point out that Angela Nagle's a plagiarist who misrepresents Germaine Greer then you have to join the Liberal Democrats. So I said really?" etc etc

This isn't unfunny. However,
This isn't unfunny. However, it might not be as clear what it intends after it was moved to this forum. I suppose that UK politics has a weird relation to identity politics - the Tories are often portrayed as defenders of minorities, compared to anti-Semitic and 'far-left' Labour - so it's hard to get too offended. The humorous angle is clear, and touches on some areas where socialists often promote a strict 'united front' with liberals and mild leftists.
Slightly surprised it didn't do more with the recent Lib Dem-Conservative alliance, which is also a famed case of explicitly stated political dilution.
