Anarchist Communist Group public meeting on Dead End of Corbynism

Submitted by Battlescarred on October 8, 2018

20th October at 1pm – ACG meeting on The Dead End of Corbynism
Takes place at the May Day Rooms, 88 Fleet Street, London EC4Y 1DH.

The Anarchist Communist Group notes the recent trend of many on the Left (including some who call themselves anarchists, libertarian socialists and anti-authoritarian communists) seeing a Corbyn led Labour Party as a great step forward in the class struggle. In this meeting, the ACG will be hosting a discussion on why the Labour Party can never offer hope for anti-capitalists in the UK and we will be looking at what we should do instead.

Can you confirm that 1pm is the starting time, because I heard elsewhere that it was 2pm?

May Day rooms have the room booked from 1 to 5 but told me to check the 'Not the Anarchist Bookfair' site, who have it down to start at 2.....

Hi Alf.
Thanks for asking about this.

Confirmed. It's definitely 2pm. The ACG website post should be fixed shortly.

On the train home. There was a really good broad ranging debate and it was nice to meet Serge and see Rat again.
Well worth the long journey.

Thanks Noah Fence for making the long journey to the meeting. It was really good to see you and realise that we were at some of the same gigs and events years ago.

One of the conclusions I took from the meeting: the ACG should do more to criticise the notion that anarchism supports democracy or localism.
