MT

Some highlights perhaps? ;)

Sorry, I posted in disgust on the fly.

Noam in conversation with Natalie Wynn discussing “The Future of The Left”

The cringe inducing title sets the tone for an incredibly cringey discussion(well, mostly Noam talking) the general thrust of the thing being is the job of the left(god I hate that entirely redundant term) is to push the Democrats in a leftward direction through activism.
Might be better not to watch it if you have any consideration for yourself!

I am minded of the bitter comment the Socialist Standard made of George Bernard Shaw

It would be better for Mr. Shaw’s reputation with coming generations, if he would now quietly die

This literally hurts. When I initially became an anarchist, Noam Chomsky was one of the writers who inspired and influenced me. So my disappointment is something I can feel physically.

I hope Noam continues to live and enjoy his life for many years to come, but damn it, I think it's time he stop talking politics in public, as the words coming from his mouth are basically akin to a steam of piss soaking the legacy of the many valuable things he has said and written in the past.

I'm reminded of Peter Kropotkin's support for World War I later in his life. What even were his reasons for that? Does anyone know?
