Pamphlet from 1945 attempting a brief explanation of anarchism and rebuttal of the main criticisms against it. Includes a booklist of Freedom Press titles at that time.
A poet, railwayman and author of many books on anarchism, Woodcock would have been 33 when he wrote this short work. A pacifist and conscientious objector who clashed in print with George Orwell over anarchist attitudes to World War II, Woodcock would have written this shortly after being released from his wartime work on an Essex farm.
