Guidelines for Reconnaissance, Liaison, Security, Support of Combat Organizations (KO)

German Revolution

A follow-up of the previous document regarding the statutes of the KOs. This text, which was also presented at the founding congress of the KAPD, talks about the necessary instructions that the KOs must follow to march towards victory.

1. DECLARATION: Every combat unit in a district must precisely clarify the military situation of the enemy in the town and its surroundings. Positions, barracks or occupied schools and houses, existing trenches, military training areas, installed guns, radio stations, waterworks, subway railroads and the like are to be marked on town plans, maps and situation sketches. The enemy's strong points and leaders must be identified. Each district commander must be informed of the enemy's position (troop assemblies, movements).

2. CONNECTION: The connection within the own districts, with the neighboring districts and with the central command must always be handled with the utmost care. Own telephone, cyclists, airmen and the like. It must not happen, even in the heaviest fighting, that the connections are interrupted.

3. SECURITY: Every meeting of the combat troops, every assembly, every weapons depot must be secured. As in the field, security is provided by posts and USW field guards.

4. MUTUAL SUPPORT: If fighting breaks out between neighboring combat troops, they must be supported as far as their own situation and forces allow. Precise orientation of the terrain of the neighboring communities is necessary in order to avoid mutual shelling.

5. REPORTS: Each local command must send regular situation reports on strength, weapons, position, combat, etc. to the district commander. The same task applies to the district, which must send a report on the entire situation of the district section to the Reich Leadership, if possible on the basis of sketches.

NOTE: The Reich Leadership again points out that only strict centralization and thorough disciplining can help our troops to victory.
