This is a hard to find book providing an overview of resistance leaders, movements, and attempts at self-government in Puerto Rico.
It is written from a nationalist "Independentista" perspective, which we disagree with, not a libertarian communist one so we reproduce it for factual reference only. It's a useful starting point for key events and leaders from Ramon Betances and "El Grito de Lares" to Pedro Albizu Campos, the Ponce Massacre, Lolita Lebrón's attack on the US congress, Luis Muñoz Marín’s export oriented "Operation Bootstrap" and more. The text is loaded with photos and the style is straightforward and propagandistic. [Unfortunately there is a blur on some of the scanned pages on the left side. but the text is still readable.]
