Care workers employed by care provider Alternative Futures Group (AFG) have recently voted on industrial action in a Unison organised ballot over the long-running, sleep-in dispute. Ballots have now been counted, and 87.4% voted to strike on a 51.5% turnout.

In response to a peaceful demonstration, security guards at a Picturehouse cinema assaulted protesters, called the police, and physically detained one individual for over half an hour.

In a time that's seeing strikes at cinemas across London, Curzon has so far not yet been affected. Indeed, the chain is expanding: opening up a new sites in London and Oxford. Last February, Curzon CEO Phillip Knatchbull was recognized by the BAFTA for supposed Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema. But all this success has come at staff's expense. Below, a group of Curzon workers detail their struggle to retain paid breaks.
