The Israeli public sector general strike which saw airports and government offices closed last week is likely to resume tomorrow following another collapse in negotiations.
The strike halted after one day following a back to work order by the National Labor Court. The court order also instructed the relevant councils to pay monies owing by the end of the week but this hasn't occurred.
Histadrut chairman Ofer Eini said that ongoing negotiations between the union and the finance ministry have failed to reach an agreement. News of the strike resuming was first reported on Israel's Army Radio this morning (Wednesday), it is also expected that the case will be reviewed by the labor court again tomorrow.
This public sector strike comes in the wake of strikes by teachers, baggage handlers, bank and university workers within the past few weeks, and a public sector strike with similar demands in Palestine.
