Following on from the recent general strike, civil servants are threatening strike action if their wages continue to be unpaid by Friday.
Civil service workers will walk out if their salaries are not paid by the end of this week, said Ofer Eini, the head of the Histadrut National Labor Federation.
Officials from the Finance and Interior ministries appeared with Eini at the Labor Court on Monday. The government officials informed Labor Court President, Judge Steve Adler that 23 municipalities have now received funds with which to pay their employees.
Union representatives said, however, that most of the workers have not yet been paid.
