Libcom.org in the USA: Juan Conatz joins libcom collective

Juan and friends, celebrating.
Juan and friends, celebrating.

Libcom.org is very happy to announce that one of our US-based users, Juan Conatz, has joined the admin collective.

Submitted by libcom on November 9, 2012

For a good few years, Juan has been the most prolific contributor to the libcom library, so we thought it was only fair that he should have a say in the running of the site. (And a share of the blame for unpopular admin decisions.)

He is a Minneapolis Jew Rican, warehouse worker, member of the revolutionary union the Industrial Workers of the World and one of the editors of the excellent Recomposition blog.

We are particularly pleased that he has joined and we hope that his involvement in the site will help libcom.org become less UK-centric, and more a global resource for English-speaking angry workers and libertarian communists. Also we are very happy that he will be able to help develop our Spanish-language content and start a revolutionary dubstep archive.

Assistance from our users would be appreciated in monitoring Juan's posts to ensure that from now on he spells it "organise".

As a joining bonus he will be allowed to ban one user of his choice, so be nice to him!

Affirmative action strikes again ;)

Congrats Juan. I'm liking that pic by the way.

And don't worry man, we'll keep stacking the admin team until until the zees have it.

I hoped our earnest attempts to get more people from Minneapolis involved in class struggle politics wouldn't be so transparent :(

definitely exciting yes!?

i look forward to more and more us and north american participation and content on libcom.org

i know that many left ages ago when the forums were more crazy, but as far as i can tell it is a much better space now for discussions, and with abc down for a long time it'd be nice to slowly but surely expand the north american section, etc if possible.

:D

Anybody who can withstand that cold in Minneapolis is clearly strong enough to handle the rigors of Libcom administration.

Random note; Jeannette Goldstein, who played Vasquez in Aliens, is also Jewish/Puerto Rican.

"Mira, who's snow white?" (Vasquez)

"She's some kind of consultant or something. Apparently she saw an alien once" (Ferro)

"Well whoopee fuckin' do" (Hudson)

According to soundcloud there's no such genre as 'anarcho-dubstep'... perhaps this should be changed? Or maybe it's for the best...

I believe I'm also the only person who hasn't been to a university? Finally, an authentic proletarian voice for our age.

Seriously though, not really going to do anything different. I pretty much had most of the admin powers prior to being asked, although I know have permission to use these powers

Right, but I wish I could. No match for Vasquez, clearly. Vasquez is just too bad.
