Practical Anarchy (Glasgow) posters

The 'Smash Hip Capitalism' poster is an interesting example of UK anarchists attempting to take on "auto-reduction" in the cultural sphere:

FOLLOWING THE DISTRIBUTION of a leaflet [page 1, page 2]attacking the way the way that Virgin Records with their chain of Megastores rip off youth rebellion and sell it back in 'hip' form, two Clydeside libertarian socialists were fined £125 on the 25th October at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

The fines were imposed for 'Breach of the Peace'which happened as a group of punk anarchists were leaving the Glasgow Megastore after distributing the leaflet in the Singles section of the first floor in the Union St. premises. A couple of the bouncers reacted to the punks shouting 'All records are free', by wading in and trying to detain people. This led to a melee during which the two were detained and charged with a breach and assault (one of them had assaulted the boot of a bouncer with his chin and his side, after throwing himself down a flight of stairs!) After being somewhat baffled by the case, and reading confiscated material, the Judge imposed fines of £125 each on the two accused.

The support group are appealing to the enemies of the commodity and hip capitalism to contribute to a fund to clear the fines and help towards legal costs. Page 2 of the "Virgin" leaflet would also appear in The End of Music which was an unauthorised publication of some notes by Dave Wise (King Mob, BM Blob etc) critiquing punk. The End of Music had the same contact details as the "Smash Hip Capitalism" leaflet.

Yes I think the "slideshow" thing has been switched on for a while. I don't really like it either.
