Thanks, glad it's appreciated! I'm afraid I don't know any good stuff on Thai history, but I believe Ed on here was telling me about a book a few years ago that's meant to be pretty good (and banned in Thailand), maybe try contacting him, I can't remember what it's called.

Yeah, that's the one.. a few years since I read it but it goes through all the power struggles and coups that have gone on since the reign of the current king started, mentioning Thailand's anti-communist campaigns and massacres of students in the 1970s.. was that the sort of thing you were looking for?
