I'm always puzzled why breakaway organisations often call themselves "united" when the fact shows they are not.

Same here in Scotland with the "united" mineworkers of scotland when it broke from the miners federation. Same with the other CP union breakaway, the "united"clothing workers union. Pretty sure others can recall other political party/union splits that chose to call themselves united.
