Gaza: Urgent appeal for assistance

Yalla Gaza appeal

Our friends in Gaza in the Yalla web development cooperative, who built our fantastic new theme, are in desperate circumstances. They have all been displaced from their homes, have lost their essential equipment like solar panels, computer panels and generators, and many have had their homes destroyed. Please support this crowdfunder to assist them.

The new design of our site was done by the Yalla Cooperative, a web development workers' co-op based in Gaza and the UK.

Our friends and colleagues in Gaza now need help affording essentials during the current crisis, and they will need support rebuilding their homes and lives once the current Israeli bombardment is over.

So if you can, please support this crowdfunder on GoFundMe

If you can afford to please donate to this impact-driven business that has done sterling work with the Ministry of Justice (UK) alongside others! Let's bring those smiles back.

Personally I think this is disgusting. You are slagging off workers who have had their homes destroyed, have been displaced by bombings, have had family members killed, and are facing death themselves every day. Because one of the many jobs some of them did was build an app to help people who had been in prison improve their literacy skills. Completely pathetic.

Please Steven, show us where we are "slagging off" any workers!

Perhaps, with hindsight, the owners of this site may see the error in judgement of asking impoverished workers to donate to an IT company in response to the most horrifyingly intense massacre of the proletariat in living memory?

The region of Gaza is effectively the largest prison camp on Earth, policed by the Israel Defence Force and its military allies and guarded within by militia affiliated with the state of Palestine.

Since you have bumped this discussion elsewhere – Yalla is a workers' cooperative, therefore attacking the cooperative is attacking the workers therein.

Where is anyone asking "impoverished workers" to do anything? No one is asking anyone to donate to an "IT company", this is a request for donations to help save the lives of the workers, who have been made homeless and are struggling to get food and survive, while you attack them from your no-doubt comfortable bedroom.

If any funds raised from your appeal have reached impoverished workers in Gaza you are to be congratulated.

Please supply readers with these channels so that we, impoverished workers, may do the same, Steven.

After a long struggle with our landlord and much labour by ourselves and other workers our damp issues have been resolved and so I can thankfully tell you that our bedrooms are free from mould and are now safe for human habitation, i.e. comfortable.

What on earth are you going on about? Every single pound raised by this fundraiser went to the cooperative members in Gaza, to help them survive this ongoing genocide.
If you don't want to support them, then of course this is totally fine, you do what you want. But it is completely unacceptable for you to attack and smear them, and use this website – which they helped build – as a platform to do so.

Can you give us some indication of the sum of Israeli New Shekels provided to this group of workers in Gaza?

Why are you being so weird?
You can see the amount of money which has been transferred by looking at the Gofundme, in the link.
Why do you keep trying to make up lies, smears, and come up with weird attacks and "gotcha" questions to try to make this group of workers look bad?
