A left wing MP was today viciously attacked at a football match between AEK Athens and Atromitos, by a group of boneheads identifying themselves as members of the fascist ‘Golden Dawn’.
Dimitris Stratoulis, of the radical left coalition (Syriza), claimed that three men approached him and said - "Stratoulis, we are members of Golden Dawn and we will kill you,'" before punching him several times to the head. Several other spectators intervened, before his assailants disappeared into the crowd. Stratoulis required first aid, before visiting the local hospital.
True to form, the Golden Dawn has claimed that they had no involvement in the attack. In a statement, they said that:
“The Golden Dawn had nothing to do with the incident against member of Parliament Stratoulis at the Olympic stadium. The leftist party hacks who promote violence in demonstrations, should stop using the name of the Golden Dawn”.
Syriza issued a statement stating that:
"We demand the prompt arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators. It is certain that tolerance towards the fascist Golden Dawn will lead to loss of life. The response must be immediate and decisive before it's too late."
As events were unfolding in the Olympic stadium, running battles were fought in suburbs of Athens between anti-fascists, Golden Dawn supporters, and the police, who used teargas, batons, and stun grenades. The violence erupted following an anti-fascist rally organised by the European Grassroots Antiracist Movement (EGAM)

Somehow I doubt this is true, given that this is multiculti media and Golden dawn is an anti-multiculti party, lies are the norm, but even if this is true.. I doubt people will care that a corrupt politican got himself a smack on the butt.

Linnn - Yeah you got me... I made the whole thing up, as did the MP, his party, the many witnesses, and all the news agencies that have reported on it. I should have thought that there would be someone who would see through it...
Whilst I care not for corrupt politicians, there are bigger issues at play. It reminds me of the Martin Niemöller quote (first they came for the Socialists etc etc).
The fact that supposed members of the Golden Dawn feel able to approach an MP at a sporting event and attack him is just further evidence (not that it was needed) of how far the Golden Dawn have come in the last 18 months...
My own view of anti-fascism does not include separating people into groups who may be more deserving of being attacked by fascists.. But I don't even know why I have written all of this, after all, I made the whole thing up.... Its because I am a 'multiculti'.
