Anarchist audio streams

I've been off blogging recently for various reasons, but having put together a few audio files recently it struck me that there's not really anywhere that such things are being collated (or the specific files at least). This might be something for a dedicated section on libcom one day, I don't know but in the meantime, I thought I might list a few bits and pieces over the next little while...

Circled A (Resonance FM)
Relatively long-running radio show which is also turned into a regular podcast. Covering a wide range of topics, it's hosted by Yodet Gherez with Donnacha DeLong regularly guest hosting when she's not about.

All episodes so far

Anarchism in the UK (to 2009)
The archived interviews conducted by Ian Bone when he was running a programme, also on Resonance.

All episodes

Anarchy Gumbo Podcast
Haven't heard much of this, seems to be a US show but is still running at the time of writing.

The accompanying blog with links to episodes

Another World is Possible (to 2011)
Another one which i don't know much about, but has a fair number of episodes to its name.

All episodes

SolFed stuff
Yes we have some! But mostly they're buried in amongst the rest of the news posts and such so I've had to collate them separately below. I was actually talking to one of the SF web people the other day about this, particularly given the various federations do quite a lot of talks in a given year, and many of us now have access to MP3 recording devices or even cameras (via phone or whatnot) there's really no reason why we shouldn't be able to do more.

Workfare discussions at the London Anarchist Bookfair (Nov 2012)
1911: Liverpool in Revolt public meeting (May 2012)
Spoken history: The origins of Spanish anarchism (Jan 2012)
Shard demo: Pics and an interview with the organiser (Sept 2011)
SeaSol on direct action against landlords and bosses (August 2011)
SolFed on the radio (July 2011)

Anyone got other recommendations or links to add? I had a quick check of the AF's site and could only find a couple of bits, don't know if there's stuff knocking around elsewhere? Any Wobbly stuff about etc?

http://www.radio4all.net/ is still going.

"The A-Infos Radio Project was formed in 1996 by grassroots broadcasters, free radio journalists and cyber-activists to provide ourselves with the means to share our radio programs via the Internet. To our knowledge, the A-Infos Radio Project was the first grassroots media project of it's kind on the internet. Our goal is to support and expand the movement for democratic communications worldwide. We exist to be an alternative to the corporate and government media which do not serve struggles for liberty, justice and peace, nor enable the free expression of creativity. The archived material is available to anyone who wants it free of charge.

We welcome submissions from all stations and independent contributors in the service of these goals. All material is donated by its contributors who are solely responsible for its content."

That Anarchy Gumbo one is definitely an anarcho-capitalist podcast (and potentially conspiracy theorist to boot?).

Against the Grain isn't specifically anarchist, but it has some really excellent stuff: http://www.againstthegrain.org/

http://wearemany.org/ has some good stuff

"We are simply trying to offer a small sampling of the best radical audio and video sources we know of...The idea of this website first came from the annual Socialism conferences, packed with so many speakers and discussions and debates and our desire to share these discussions with others on a single platform. We had collected hundreds of talks and meetings over the years, but had never shared them in a coherent way. We hope you find this effort useful."

Dissident Island: http://www.dissidentisland.org/

'Dissident Island Radio is a radical internet radio show broadcasting on the first and third Friday of every month from the London Action Resource Centre. Our shows cover a wide range of topics from climate justice, to animal rights, to anti-fascism, to squatting, to economic justice, and beyond as well as featuring much frivolity and our regular DJ slot. Not content to simply produce a kick-ass radio show, the Dissident Island crew regularly throw benefit parties in various squatted venues, as well as producing a zine, and sharing our radio making skills at workshops around the country. Dissident Island Radio is also part of the Catalyst Radio network, which broadcasts radical radio from all over the English speaking world 24/7'

Nina Power has a new radio show on Resonance FM called 'The Hour of Power'. I don't know what it's like though as I missed the debut episode on Sunday:

This one's a bit 'local', but well worth a listen. It's put together by a couple of Wobblies.

This is good. As I'm unemployed at the moment, I've been having a daily serving of Democracy Now. You know what though, as much as I appreciate the headlines (the "War and Peace" Report  ), the interviews and the features are generally shit. As such, I'm quite keen to find worthwhile stuff to listen to while I'm making breakfast or cleaning the kitchen. This is ideal, so keep 'em coming.

Also, R in SLSF did a recording of us talking about the Office Angels stuff not long after it all wrapped up. Be good to finally get that out and on to the internet

Hey All,

Long time reader, first time poster. I Host/Produce Rise Up: Radio Free Edmonton in Canada, I weekly 30-minute radio show that tries to focus on local and international stories, and we're unabashedly "black and red" in our analysis. We focusing extensively on labour struggles, but also indigenous rights, anti-racist/antifa organizing, feminist news, and environmental news as well. The show has been around for just under 10 years now, we have a lot of support from our local anarchist and radical labour communities, and source a lot of our material from Lib Com.

We're in the process of revamping our website (which crashed) over the next couple of weeks, but in the meantime, you can check out a few remaining older podcasts at http://www.riseupedmonton.ca/. Our show runs every Wednesday at 5:30 pm (MST) on CJSR (www.cjsr.com).

Solidarity,

This is a pretty good list, I'm mainly commenting so I can find this page again easily. But also
Audible Anarchist has been producing a lot of audiobooks and audio essays
