[VIDEO] Blaming Black People (Ft. Ben Shapiro & Sargon of Akkad) | [Radical Responsibility]

It’s common for conservatives and even centrists to believe that black people have a victim complex and that this sabotages their socioeconomic success. They think black people don’t make an effort to succeed because they blame their problems on racism and feel entitled to handouts.

This video essay draws on various research studies to debunk this dangerous myth.

Debunking the “black victim mentality” theory is important because it’s an ideological obstacle to addressing the systemic and institutional causes of black / white socioeconomic inequality.

[VIDEO] Voting & Electoralism: Steelman Debates Steelman

This video is a debate between two fictional characters: One in favor of voting and electoralism, the other bitterly opposed.

https://youtu.be/Mv7naNWfZ4A

My personal opinion is I don’t have a problem with voting but believe that electoralism is harmful. Regardless of whether or not you vote, we should focus on building a mass-movement to win reforms by our own actions and build our capacity for revolution.

This video was published two weeks before the 2020 U.S. election and uses it as an example. However, the issues discussed and arguments made can generally apply to any “democratic” country in any year.

[VIDEO] Power to End Capitalism: The Case for Workplace Organizing

Organizing as workers gives us the power to improve our lives in the short-term and abolish capitalism in the long-term. So to say this is an important topic is an understatement! And that's what this video is all about.

[VIDEO] Lies & Half-Truths on Escaping Poverty | [Radical Responsibility]

The Brookings Institution says there are “three simple rules” poor people can follow to escape poverty and join the middle-class, a claim echoed by political commentators such as Ben Shapiro. This video looks into this claim and shows the various ways it is false.

This video is 12 minutes long. Further description below video.

[VIDEO] BLAMING THE POOR: Poverty as Punishment | [Radical Responsibility]

Margaret Thatcher called poverty a “personality defect”. Ben Shapiro says people are poor because “they suck with money.” A research-backed response to all those who blame poverty on the poor. In a world with enough for all, poverty is never justified.

This video is 16 minutes and is divided into five parts. Further description below video.

[VIDEO] The Seductive Power of the Right-wing Fantasy: Can We Break the Spell? [Radical Responsibility]

A fantasy of empowerment that can boost confidence and motivation but has dangerous side-effects. Join me as I attempt to understand conservatives, anti-SJWs, and right-wingers on their own terms, without strawmanning them.

[VIDEO] Where's the Proof of Racism?

Twelve exhibits of evidence making the case that there exists a widespread pattern of racism that amounts to racial oppression. I support this with plenty of research studies and data. The video focuses on African-Americans; other groups in the U.S. and around the world face racism, too, but I narrowed it down to black Americans to keep this video concise.

Areas of focus, in order of appearance:

12. Employment
11. Employment (again)
10. Housing
9. Banking
8. Courts
7. Police
6. Police (again)
5. Employment (yet again)
4. School
3. Healthcare
2. School (again)
1. Wealth
