An updated list of documents and websites we would like to archive in our library.
Here are a list of links to websites and articles which we would like duplicated in our library.
This is to help ensure that as many people as possible read them, and also to ensure that the documents stay online, in case other websites disappear - as has happened to so many other radical sites in the past couple of years.
We would appreciate any help from our users in copying this stuff across. If people would like to help but don't have the technical know-how - not to worry, we can help you! Just ask in the comment section below.
Higher priority
we would like pretty much all of the content on the following links duplicated on libcom.org:
http://zerowork.org/ - articles from the journal are already all on libcom but we would like all of the supplemental materials
http://libcom.org/library/exhaustive-list-iww-pamphlets - some of these are currently hosted externally so it would be good to get them all on libcom
http://zinnedproject.org/news/page/2/ - any of the good historical texts here would be great
http://home.earthlink.net/~lrgoldner/ - break their haughty power
http://www.takver.com/history/index.htm - Australian radical history site, would be good to get all the history stuff
http://www.left-dis.nl/
http://www.generation-online.org/t/translations.htm
http://www.alphabetthreat.co.uk/pasttense/page2.html
http://www.marxists.org/history/spain/spanishrevolution/index.htm - it would be great to get all of these individual issues up in our incomplete archive which is here: http://libcom.org/library/spanish-revolution-newspaper
http://libcom.org/forums/history/living-marxism-archive-06062014 - would be good to get this archive in the library
http://www.connexions.org/RedMenace.htm Would be great to get the rest of these in our red Menace archive here: http://libcom.org/library/red-menace
http://dwardmac.pitzer.edu/Anarchist_Archives/goldman/ME/me.html - Mother Earth
http://forworkerspower.wordpress.com/category/the-solidarity-group/ - anything here by Solidarity would be great
http://www.rebeller.se/English.html - We have most of this but there are one or two texts we still don't have which would be good
http://kommunismus.narod.ru/books.html - the English stuff here would be the priority, but the foreign-language stuff would be good as well
http://libcom.org/library/kurasje-documents - having these file attachments added to the library as individual articles would be great
http://muse.jhu.edu/journals/journal_of_the_history_of_youth_and_childhood/summary/v004/4.2.getman-eraso.html - about youth groups in the Spanish revolution
http://gurgaonworkersnews.wordpress.com/workers-history/
Lower priority
The following websites contain some useful texts. We would like any decent, relevant ones which we do not host already to be copied into our library, but the higher priority ones above are preferred for the time being.

http://www.bibliothekderfreien.de/lidiap/eng/index.htm - any decent publications from these ones online would be great duplicated on libcom
http://newsandletters.org/WritingsofRD.asp

New content
The following websites are active and continually having new content posted. As such, duplicating content from them is not as high a priority, however we would still like to duplicate new additions or older articles from these websites as they come out eventually:

Thanks for making a new post!
I took on Kate Sharpley and am doing both The Red Menace (Canada) and various stuff I think would be related to the US study group thing that's popped up.
However, in a week, I'll be moving to a different city and will have no internet access, so after the 23rd, my contributions are probably going to cease for a while.

Juan, thanks for that, that's been great. With KSL, as that is a currently active and live site that is probably a lower priority for us at the moment.
That's a shame about your Internet access - you've been our most prolific contributor of late, and it's much appreciated. But your break is well-deserved! If you have some spare time when you're bored though, one thing you can do when off-line (I do this at work) is get PDFs from the library (or long texts from elsewhere) and format them in text format in word. Then you could e-mail them to us or upload them at a later date.
This isn't me trying to put pressure on you, just saying there is still plenty of stuff which can be done off-line.
Hopefully one of collective action notes will help archive the remainder of their own stuff

We (Sparrows' Nest collective, Nottingham, England) just put some interesting scanned material from SWF online that was donated last year by Ron of SF - see http://thesparrowsnest.org.uk and a post I just sent to the history forum.
Could maybe be talk about getting this on libcom in some form, as some point - no hurry though as we are still working on the scanning.

I've finally started on the generation-online library. There's a lot of articles not in the libcom library, but I am wondering whether all of them should be uploaded (e.g. Bifo's articles, Foucault, Agamben etc.). Can one of the mods (I guess Steven) let me know if I should just upload all of it or be selective?
Hi, thanks very much for
Hi, thanks very much for that.
Regarding what to upload, I would use your discretion. In general I would say stick with stuff that is explicitly libcom, or of significant interest to libcoms, like operaismo stuff or whatever.
More general philosophical articles like Foucault, I would say not to bother with unless they are of specific libcom interest and aren't online many other places.
Thanks so much!

Also, I'm slowly going through the Radical America. I went through all the PDF's and wrote down the titles of some of the more relevent material and am using a free (and not terribly great) OCR program to convert them into text, then reformating and putting them in the library.
One thing on putting stuff in the library, Nate...I don't know how hugely important it is to the libcom folks, but I usually do some additional formatting to the articles I post such as bold headers of article section titles, italicizing foreign language words/book titles and adding the hyperlinked footnotes or whatever you call it1 .
Juan, yeah, my thought was
Juan, yeah, my thought was put them in now and format better later. If that's not kosher then I'll stop doing them that way. I need to re-read the style guide because I can never remeber how to do the damn footnotes.
Awesome about you doing Radical America and in such a detailed way, that's a great resource.
Two more suggestions for the archive list -

STO's not really a libertarian communist group (though probly no less so than any of the Italian operaismo people in the 70s were) but they're of interest at least to US-based libertarian communists.
and
http://bigflameuk.wordpress.com/
BF is a big part of how the Italian stuff came into English in the first place, in addition to the political work they got up to. I also think that with both the STO site and the BF site it's useful to have materials on groups that are about the size of a lot of our groups today, to compare with.
Amazing, thanks guys! yeah
Amazing, thanks guys!
yeah Nate Juan is right we do prefer the basic formatting at least - i.e. bold headers. Italicised foreign words/journal names I would say don't worry about, but for emphasis we would like to keep. Footnotes would be great, but [1] etc style footnotes are alright. Because even though we may intend to go back and tidy things up later we probably won't get round to it, and some of the original formatting may be lost and it may not be clear how it is supposed to be.
But again thanks so much to you two!

In this case, there is already a partial archive of them to which you can add child pages in the same format:

it must be the "weight". Articles are organised first by "weight" (in the book outline section), then alphabetically. So if you want an article to go to the top make it "lighter", by setting the weight to a negative number (so if there is an Introduction you can set it to -15)

It's a shame, at the start of the fourth issue they say they've learnt so much that they were ready to publish more actively, and yet the dominance of the Marx V Bakunin debate and the growing ugliness seems to have poisoned that well. If you go through the list of websites some are formatted so a copying and pasting text into a library entry is all that needs doing apart from titles and tags.
